Cape Coast Stad1StarTimes revealed that they will only telecast games at Cape Coast and other selected venues
Information gathered by Finder Sports indicates that most Ghana Premier League (GPL) clubs will boycott the decision by StarTimes to telecast their matches at the Cape Coast Stadium if they are to move from their home venues to Cape Coast.

According to reports, StarTimes OB Van cannot travel across all the league centres, but will be stationed at Cape Coast to telecast matches in the upcoming season. Thus certain clubs will have to leave their home venues to Cape Coast to play their league matches in order to have the matches live on TV.

Finder Sports’ interaction with some club officials after these reports, showed that most clubs will boycott their match been shown live on TV, and rather stay at their home grounds were they can generate some revenue as well as get their fans behind them.

In an interview with Administrative manager for West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), George Ofosuhene he told Finder Sports that it will be awkward for StarTimes to come up with that decision to move the clubs from their home grounds to Cape Coast.

“It is speculation and we have not gotten any information of that sought. It will affect WAFA if it turns out to be true.

“We have supporters who are interested in some of our big matches and such a decision will affect us. We will not agree to this decision. Sometimes playing at home we don’t get money and it will be a tough decision to take by management.”

The Chairman for Ghana League Clubs Association and Chief Executive Officer for AshantiGold, Kudjoe Fianoo, told Finder Sports that the decision will have to involve the clubs. The television station cannot take a decision to move the clubs to Cape Coast.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer for StarTimes Ghana, Eli Kondoh told the paper that the news circulating in the media about the OB Van are not true and details about plan of coverage will be revealed very soon.

The OB Van was used during the Ghalca G8 tournament and only matches in Cape Coast were televised even though the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was another venue for the tournament.
